Kazakhstan: Law No. 2337 On the Legal Status of Foreigners, as amended up to July 2025

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On the Legal Status of Foreigners" defines the status of foreigners and stateless persons, the procedure for their entry, stay and exit from the country. The Law sets out their fundamental rights, freedoms, and obligations, including access to employment, education, health care, housing, cultural life, and judicial protection. It provides for the possibility of granting asylum to foreigners, establishes taxation rules, sets restrictions on voting rights and access to certain positions, and regulates matters related to liability, reduction of the period of stay, and expulsion.
