Nauru: Constitution of Nauru
Comments:
This print of the Constitution of Nauru incorporates the alterations made by the Constitutional Convention of Nauru under Article 92 on 17 May 1968. Additional amendments were adopted, some of those can be found under 'related documents' but please note that the list is not complete. A link is also provided to the Constitution of Nauru (Parliamentary Amendments) Act 2009 but the status of this Act is unclear as the referendum held in 2010 resulted in a negative vote. Various Constitutional Amendment Bills were proposed in 2013 (status unclear) as well as that various bills were introduced in the last few years (1 in 2025, 2 in 2024 and 1 in 2022, see https://ronlaw.gov.nr/ ) but it is not clear if they have been enacted.
See Part VIII with respect to citizenship. Distinction is made for those born before, or on or after 31 January 1968.
