Covers developments since the previous report of 17 Aug. 2001 (A/55/1028-S/2001/789) until 15 Nov. 2001. Reports on the activities and peacemaking efforts of the UN Special Mission to Afghanistan, including its Civil Affairs Unit, political developments prior to the terrorist attacks of 11 September and their aftermath, regional and international developments related to Afghanistan, and the military situation. Also gives an account of humanitarian activities and the human rights situation. Includes statement adopted on 12 Nov. 2001 by the Ministers for Foreign Affairs and other senior representatives of the six plus two.
