Press freedom is constitutionally guaranteed and generally respected. The Island Tribune, an independent weekly, covers politically diverse issues, but other newspapers tend to avoid controversial topics. The media consist of government newsletters, several small private papers, television stations in three of the four states, radio stations run by each of the four state governments, and a radio station run by a religious group. Satellite television is increasingly available, and there is an increasing level of discussion of sensitive issues on various Internet sites.
