XVII. RESOLUTIONS ADOPTED ON THE REPORT OF THE FIFTH COMMITTEE
1865. United Nations operations in the Congo

The General Assembly, Having considered the report on the cost estimates and financing of the United Nations operations in the Congo submitted by the Secretary-General[1]1and the report of the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions thereon,[2] Hazing in mind the terms of its resolution 1854 B (XVII) of 19 December 1962 establishing a Working Group of twenty-one members to study special methods for financing the peace-keeping operations of the United Nations involving heavy expenditures such as those for the Congo and the Middle East, and to report thereon by 31 March 1963,

1. Decides to continue the ad hoe account for the expenses of the United Nations operations in the Congo;

2. Authorizes the Secretary-General to expend up to 30 June 1963 at an average monthly rate not to exceed $10 million for the continuing cost of the United Nations operations in the Congo.
