This law repeals some provisions of the the Immigration Act 1971, the Immigration Act 1988, the Asylum and Immigration Appeals Act 1993, and the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996. The law was implemented by Asylum Support Regulations 2000 SI 704. It was extended to Guernsey by the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999 (Guernsey) Order 2003 and later by The Immigration (Guernsey) Order 2011 (attached). It was later amended by The Transfer of Tribunal Functions Order 2008, The Tribunal Procedure (First-tier Tribunal) (Immigration and Asylum) and the Asylum Support (Amendment) Regulations 2022.
It was also amended and repealed in part by Immigration Act 2014 and the Nationality, Immigration and Asylum Act 2002.
