The Constitution was promulgated by the Solomon Islands Independence Order 1978, No. 783 of 1978, which was made on 31 May 1978 and came into operation on 7 July 1978. See also the Solomon Islands Act 1978. This version includes the amendments up to No. 16 of 2023. Not included in the consolidated version is the Constitution (Amendment) (Constituent Assembly) Act 2023 (No. 18 of 2023), which can be found under 'related documents'.
