The original Regulations were made under the Australian Citizenship Act 1948 and entered into force on 18 August 1960. The Regulations were repealed by the Australian Citizenship Regulations 2007 on 1 July 2007. This compilation was prepared on 1 July 2005 by the Office of Legislative Drafting and Publishing, Attorney-General's Department, Canberra.
