REG 1 Citation
These Regulations may be cited as the Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters (Service of Documents) Regulations.
(NOTE: These Regulations commence on gazettal: see Acts Interpretation Act 1901, s. 48.)
REG 2 Interpretation
In these Regulations, unless the contrary intention appears:
"the Act" means the Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters Act 1987.
REG 3 Application of the Act
(1)The Act applies in relation to each foreign country specified in the Schedule, subject to the limitations or exceptions stated in subregulations (2) and (3).
(2)Parts II, III, IV, V, VI and VIA of the Act do not apply in relation to any foreign country specified in the Schedule.
(3)The Act applies in relation to each foreign country specified in the Schedule only in relation to the service of documents under, or in accordance with, the Act.
REG 4 Effect of Schedule
The inclusion in the Schedule of a reference to the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro) is not taken to imply recognition of that entity by Australia.
