Date of entry into force:11 January 1984

In accordance with the provisions of Para. (A) of Article 42 of the Interim Constitution,

The Revolutionary Command Council have decided in their session held on 19.11.1983 the following:

1. The Arab citizen residing in Iraq should renew his passport within one month from the date of the expiry of its validity.

2. In case the Arab citizen has no diplomatic representation in Iraq, he should have a recourse to the Directorate of Residence from the date of the expiry of the validity of his passport in order to confirm the legality of his existence in Iraq.

3. Whoever contravenes the provisions of paras (1) and (2) of this Resolution shall be punished with the imprisonment for a period not to exceed three years and with a fine not to exceed five hundred dinars or by the both penalties.

4. This Resolution shall come into force after the elapse of 30 days from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette and the authorities concerned shall undertake its execution.
