In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 3 of the Foreigners Act, 1946 (XXXI of 1946) and in supersession of the Foreigners (Restriction on Activities) Order, 1961 the Central Government hereby makes the following Order, namely:-
1.Short title and commencement.
(1)This Order may be called the Foreigners (Restriction on Activities) Order, 1962.
(2)It shall come into force at once.
2.Restrictions on making photographs etc.
Notwithstanding anything contained in the Foreigners (Exemption) Order, 1957, no Foreigner (other than a subject of Bhutan or a national of Nepal), shall, except under and I n accordance with the permission in writing of the civil authority, survey or make photographs, sketches or any other diagrammatic representation of any place, road, bridge, building or any other premises or installations in the following areas in the district of Darjeeling in the State of West Bengal, namely:-
(a)Jalaphar and Lebong:
(b)Durbin Dara;
(c)Teesta bridges and Rangpor; and
(d)Such other area as may be specified by the civil authority.
Explanation. For the purpose of this paragraph, Civil Authority' shall have the meaning assigned to it in Paragraph 2 of the Foreigners Order, 1948.
