Millions of Orthodox Christians across the world are celebrating Easter, their most important religious holiday.

The resurrection of Christ on Easter Sunday is celebrated in 70 countries worldwide according to the Julian calendar.

In Moscow, Russian President Vladimir Putin attended a special midnight Mass.

This year Roman Catholics and Protestants marked Easter in March, according to the Gregorian calendar.
