Oles BuzynaOles Buzyna

A well-known Ukrainian journalist has been shot dead in Kyiv, hours after another journalist was reported killed in the country.

The Ukrainian Interior Ministry says Oles Buzyna, 45, was gunned down near his Kyiv apartment block on April 16.

Police say the journalist was shot by unidentified gunmen in a drive-by shooting.

Serhiy Sukhobok, another noted Ukrainian journalist, was reported gunned down earlier in the day.

Media reports did not specify whether Sukhobok was killed in his native Donetsk region, in war-torn eastern Ukraine, or elsewhere.

The conflict between government forces and pro-Russian militants in eastern Ukraine has killed more than 6,000 people since April 2014.
