U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland has held talks with Armenia's Foreign Minister Eduard Nalbandian in Yerevan.
Armenian Foreign Ministry's website says that the two on February 18 discussed bilateral ties, Armenian's democratic reforms, and the U.S. role in settling the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
On February 17, after talks with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Baku, Nuland said she would talk in Yerevan about the release of Azerbaijani civilians held in breakaway Nagorno-Karabakh.
Two Azerbaijani nationals were jailed in Nagorno-Karabakh last year for what the region's de facto ethnic-Armenian separatist government called military saboteur activities.
Azerbaijan insists the two men are civilians and have nothing to do with the country's military forces.
Nuland's visit to Yerevan came at the end of her three-day tour of the Caucasus.
She visited Georgian capital, Tbilisi, on February 17, where she met with senior officials for talks on Georgia's democratic reforms and the country's path toward integration with the European Union.
