An explosion was reported near the Afghan police headquarters in Kabul early on November 9.
Kabul's chief of police General Mohammad Zahir Zahir told the AP news agency that at least one officer was killed and six wounded.
Zahir said he was not hurt.
An interior ministry spokesman said the area was crowded at the time of the blast.
The explosion came some two hours after another blast was reported in the city.
A defense ministry spokesman sad that explosion was an attack on an Afghan army vehicle that resulted in no casualties.
Taliban insurgents claimed responsibility for both attacks.
