Russian media reports say Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov arrived in Minsk on June 16 for talks with Belarusian Foreign Minister Uladzimir Makey which will focus on the crisis in Ukraine.
Russia's Foreign Ministry says Lavrov and Makey were to discuss aspects of the European Union's Eastern Partnership program in connection with Ukraine's crisis.
The ministry says Lavrov's talks were also devoted to "bilateral and international issues, including cooperation in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the Eurasian Economic Union, the Union State of Russia and Belarus," and the United Nations, as well as relations with the EU and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).
Lavrov was scheduled to travel to Belgrade later on June 16 for meetings on June 17 with Serbian government officials.
