A woman has blown herself up and killed two other people in the eastern Turkish town of Bingol.

Local governor Mustafa Hakan Guvencer said the attack, which also wounded 12 other people, took place near the provincial headquarters of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP).

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.

The suicide bombing in Bingol comes two days after the Turkish military wrapped up a week-long air and land operation against the PKK in southeastern Turkey and across the Iraqi border.
