Mladina
June 17, 1992, in Sarajevo, Bosnia
Standeker, a journalist with the Slovenian magazine Mladina, was injured by tanks and mortar shells from a Serbian position in Sarajevo. He suffered serious injuries to his legs and torso and died later that day. Jana Schneider, an American freelance photographer, was also injured and received shrapnel wounds in her legs. She was later transported to Belgrade for further treatment.
