Two car bombs exploded in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul today, killing six people and injuring at least 50, police said.

The blasts occurred in a street with many restaurants near the government compound in the main city of Nineveh Province, 390 kilometers north of the capital, Baghdad.

At least one of the bombs seemed aimed at a police patrol.
