No information on the Centre Bienheureux Bakanja could be found among the sources consulted by the Research Directorate. However, referring to the congregation's house based in Kinshasa, a publication on a Carmelite Website states the following:
The formation house in Kinshasa was opened in 1991 and dedicated to Bl. [Blessed] Isidore Bakanja, a lay martyr who was devoted to the Brown Scapular. The house gives the young students the opportunity to study theology and to go on with further specialisation (O.Carm.News June 1998).
This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the Research Directorate within time constraints. This Response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum.
