In a letter dated 16 February 2002 the Pakistan Bar Council in Islamabad stated that they were not aware of any association in Pakistan with the name S&S Lawyer's Association.

With regard to the Law Firm of Sattar & Sattar described in PAK38040.E of 14 January 2002, the following information, dated 6 February 2002, was obtained from the firm's executive council in Karachi.

The Law Firm of Sattar & Sattar was established in Pakistan in 1977 to provide legal services in all areas of Corporate Law, Human Resource, Contracts, Joint Venture, Franchise and Licensing Agreements, Property Law, Intellectual Property Protection, Copyrights, Trademarks and Patents. We also prepare response to claims and complaints and represent litigation matters at all judicial levels. The Firm provides comprehensive legal services to a growing number of Pakistan based Clients and foreign Companies, Consulates and Trade Missions operating in Pakistan.

Our Services also include Immigration and Naturalization Services, Work Permits, Work Visa, Registration of Ex-pat Staff with various Authorities including Investment Boards etc.

The executive counsel further stated that the Firm does not have a Young Members Wing.

This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the Research Directorate within time constraints. This Response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum.
