Green Mama
A 10 May 1998 Cosmetics Communications report states that:
Green Mama is one of the few Russian-based companies to produce goods for sale in Western Europe. It makes creams, scrubs, masks, shampoo and conditioner, all based on extracts of plants from the Ussri Taiga. The main range is named 'Taiga Formula'. Ingredients include sage, plantain, buckthorn and cedar oils.
An 11 June 1999 Women's Wear Daily (WWD) report states that Green
Mama produces "an environment-friendly line of skin and hair care products that appeals to younger, hipper women."
The Green Mama French subsidiary Website also provides the following
information:
Initially, GREEN MAMA was a family company which, over a number of years, distributed cosmetic brands and beauty products. Thanks to its understanding of the needs of the market, the family decided to create its own range of cosmetics in 1996.
GREEN MAMA 's first market was Russia, then the Czech Republic, Europe, Canada, and Australia.
The majority of the plants we use in the manufacturing of our products come from Siberia, the Far East and Asia, the main base of the "Taiga Formula".
Our products are made-up through links to ancestral traditional medicine, based on natural plant essences, which have beenaround since Ancient Egypt, a period in which they already held a foremost place, which are also known under the name of essential oils. These pure and natural oils, incorporated in the formulation of our cosmetics, offer an exception synergy of effects, which can be seen from the first applications.
Being concerned about purity and effectiveness, the scientists and designers at GREEN MAMA have opted for natural cosmetology,by choosing strictly the best raw materials, amongst the multiple Natural Elements. This is no option arising from a marketing strategy:
It is above all a real "culture", deeply rooted and a real passion for the directors of this company.
This is the continuation of a heritage, the application of ancestral formulas which have come from the Orient (Russia, China)countries where, by tradition, the people look after themselves by using plants and not by medicines, avoiding in this way chemical agents which are often aggressive. The conception andcomposition of GREEN MAMA cosmetics, bring together tradition and high technology.
France has an international reputation in the field of cosmetics manufacturing. Our range is made in the French Riviera close to Grasse, and brings a quality guarantee and an answer to the increasing demand for high-performance plant-based care, which is exceptionally rich in plant essences, vitamins and trace elements.
Our generic approach "The Discreet force of Nature" corresponds to the real expectations of your clients. In France, GREEN MAMA is making its mark by various retail distribution channels, in department stores /high street retailers, and multiple retailers ...
The original feature of our strategy is that we offer, each month, from 3 to 5 days of events carried out by our own teams, in our various points of sale.
The GREEN MAMA group employs about 110 staff.
In 1998, the group turnover was 19 million dollars, that is 1,200,000 tones of products, over the various sites.
