Several sources state that Abdul-Aziz Ahmed is the chairman of the legal affairs standing committee of the house of people's representatives (Ethiopian News Agency 8 Oct. 1999; Xinhua News Agency 17 Apr. 1999; 13 May 1998; VOA 23 Dec. 1998; 2 June 1998).

No reports on his current whereabouts nor on the name of his wife could be found among the sources consulted by the Research Directorate.
