No information on the treatment of Hindus since 1997, other than that provided in Country Reports 1998, and a 15 January 1999 DPA article describing threats by the Chhatra Shibir (the youth front of the Jamaat-i-Islami) to attack Hindu temples in Kushtia for allegedly blaspheming against the Qur'an, could be found among the sources consulted by the Research Directorate.

This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the Research Directorate within time constraints. This Response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum.
