Information additional to that contained in Responses to Information Requests IND11021 of 30 June 1992 and IND11087 of 16 June 1992, which are available in the REFINFO database, could not be found among the sources currently available to the DIRB. However, according to a representative of the World Sikh Organization in Ottawa, the number of Sikhs currently living in New Delhi is estimated at around 800,000 to 1.6 million (8 Apr. 1993).

Attached, please find excerpts from India 1991: A Reference Annual, which provides provisional results of the 1991 census.
