In a 7 May 1999 telephone interview with the Research Directorate, the Secretary General at the Superior Institute for Police Studies (Instituto Superior de Educación Policial) in Tegucigalpa stated that there are no academies in Honduras offering police training to women only. He stated that, in addition to his institute, two other institutions offer police training to both women and men in Honduras: the Police Training Centre (Centro de Instrucción Policial) in La Paz and the National Police Academy (Academia Nacional Policial) in Tegucigalpa.
