However, the attached article from Centroamerica may be of interest as it is drawn from February 1995 reports indicating that the Venezuelan government put the military in control of immigration and documentation registration. Another publication, the Christian Science Monitor, also reported that the military had "assumed greater responsibility in prison and immigration matters," but additional information is not provided (29 Mar. 1995).
