1) A representative of the High Commission of India in Ottawa states that Jallandhar is a Sikh-dominated city (26 Feb. 1992).

 According to a representative of Asia Watch in Washington, D.C., Jallandhar has a mixed population consisting of Sikhs and Hindus (26 Feb. 1992). However, the representative was unable to provide detailed information on the exact percentages of Sikhs and Hindus in this city.

 2) A representative of Asia Watch in Washington, D.C. holds that the Punjab police force is composed of both Sikhs and Hindus (26 Feb. 1992). The representative was unable to comment on the specificity of the ethnic composition of the Jallandhar police force.
