According to a Helsinki Watch report, demonstrations were held in University Square in Bucharest from mid-April 1990 to 13 June 1990 (March 1991, 26). Please see the attached excerpt from this report and a number of other articles specific to demonstrations occurring on the 16th and 17th of May 1990.
