Pour des informations sur les lois et la violence conjugale en Tunisie, veuillez consulter les articles de Inter Press Service (IPS) du 13 juin 1995 et du 25 janvier 1995. L'article du 13 juin 1995 indique que
The 1993 reform of the penal code specified conjugal violence and violence against relatives. The text allows women and girls, all those who are victims of conjugal violence, to bring a case against a brother, father or husband. The penalties range from fines to several years in prison for permanent injuries.

In Tunisia, a 1992 survey at the largest hospital in the country found that of the 480 female assault victims, 85 percent were battered wives. Also in Tunisia, 250 victims of rape and assault have been treated at the clinic of the Democratic Women's Association.
Selon l'édition du Chicago Tribune du 30 mai 1993
A center for abused women in Tunis has helped about 120 women since it opened in 1990, according to the Tunisian Association of Democratic Women. The independent women's group says 36 women who sought help at the center, one of the few such facilities in the Arab world, have won court cases and damages from the men who abused them.
