Although violent actions are reported to have taken place against members of the black minority in Colombia, reports of a racist motivation behind these or other abuses could not be found among the sources currently available. The available reports describe incidents of abuse against Colombia's native Indians. Please find attached a copy of page 440 of Encyclopedia of the Third World (New York: Facts on File, Inc., 1987) which describes in general terms the ethnic composition and situation of ethnic minorities in Colombia. Corroborating information could not be found among the available sources.
