A representative of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat (AMJ) in Toronto provided the following information on the above subject during a telephone interview on 1 December 1992.
The AMJ represents all Ahmadis in Pakistan and other countries and has representative offices in the provinces of Canada. These offices register individuals residing in Canada as Ahmadis upon verification of their claims to be Ahmadis. In order to verify these claims, the AMJ contacts the representatives of the Ahmadi faith in Pakistan or other countries.
The AMJ is unable to verify the claims to membership in the Ahmadi faith of Lahore since Ahmadis in Lahore belong to a sect of Ahmadiyya which is not represented by the AMJ. That sect may have a representative office in Canada.
Additional and/or corroborating information on the above subject is currently unavailable to the DIRB.
