Selon la presse internationale, Edner Pageotte était membre du gouvernement municipal de la banlieue de Delmas en 1980 et en est devenu le maire en 1984 (Latin America Regional Reports: Caribbean 22 août 1980; The Associated Press 13 févr. 1984). En 1986, le Brésil lui a accordé l'asile politique. Pageotte était étroitement lié au régime répressif des Duvalier (United Press International 24 févr. 1986; Ibid. 23 févr. 1986; Ibid. 6 févr. 1986; The Associated Press 24 févr. 1986).
Le CDCISR ne possède, à l'heure actuelle, aucun renseignement sur la situation d'Edner Pageotte depuis l'obtention du statut de réfugié au Brésil en 1986.
