According to a representative of the Guinean Embassy in Ottawa, anyone born in Guinea, whether from Guinean parents or not, can apply for Guinean nationality. The application is usually done by the parents at birth. Those born in Guinea who have lived in another country and have the nationality of the country of permanent residence are also eligible to Guinean nationality (Embassy of Guinea 28 March 1991). The representative did not have a copy of the immigration and nationality documents in which the procedures and requirements for the acquisition of Guinean nationality are described (Ibid.).

Further information on the subject is unavailable to the IRBDC at the present time.
