Information on an organization under the acronym UEP could not be found among the sources currently available to the IRBDC. For information on the Organización Revolucionaria del Pueblo en Armas (ORPA), please find attached the following documents:

-Response to information request 1754;

-Human Rights in Guatemala During President Cerezo's First Year (Washington: Americas Watch/British Parliamentary Human Rights Group, 1987), pp. 55-58;

-Central America Report (Guatemala, Infopress Centroamericana): 17 August 1990, pp. 241-243; 7 September 1990, pp. 265-266;

-Revolutionary and Dissident Movements (London: Longman Publishing Group, 1988), pp. 139-140;

-1989 International Yearbook on International Communist Affairs (Stanford: Hoover Institution Press, 1989), pp. 93-98.

Please note that not all the documents originally attached to the response to information request 1754 are included with this response. The information on ORPA found in Latin American Political Movements is very much the same as that found in Revolutionary and Dissident Movements, while the 1989 Yearbook on International Communist Affairs updates the information found in the 1988 edition.
