Information on this group is scarce.

The following information was provided during a telephone interview on 18 December 1995 with the Chairman of the Constitutionalist Movement of Iran in Western Canada.

The group was founded by some military officers and followers of the deposed monarch. Shahin began its operations immediately after the Iranian revolution. The group has been operating from Athens, Greece. The leader of the group is usually identified by the pseudonym name of Shamshirzan or a similar name.

The group used to conduct activites inside Turkey, along the Turkish border with Iran. Members of the group infiltrated Iran from the Turkish border. The source stated that these activities have stopped.

This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the DIRB within time constraints. This Response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum.
