Specific information on the above-mentioned subjects could not be found among the sources consulted by the DIRB. In April 1991 Africa Research Bulletin reported that the interim government of Somalia accused Kenyan authorities of permitting wealthy Somalis to organize meetings in Kenya "to raise funds and recruit young Darods for the war against the United Somali Congress government in Mogadishu" (10074). The Kenyan government denied the accusations (ibid.). Additional information on the recruitment or forcible recruitment of Somalis in Kenya could not be found.

This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the DIRB within time constraints. This Response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum. Please find below the list of sources consulted in researching this Information Request.
