Please see the attached 19 June 1997 letter from the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Ottawa, which provides a copy of article 1060 of the Iranian Civil Code in Persian and an English translation. Article 1060 states that:
Marriage of an Iranian woman to a Foreign National, in those cases not conflicting with the laws are subject to special permit from the Iranian government.
