l) "Morcha" is actually a word in Punjabi which means "entrenchment" and is applied to the mass agitations that are part of the strategy of the Akali Dal Party, the political party that has dominated Sikh Affairs. [Dr. Christopher Shackle, The Sikhs, (London: The Minority Rights Group, 1984), p. 14.] For your information a copy of an earlier Response to Information Request by the IRBDC on the Akali Dal is attached.
