Information on the Bayan Party is scarce among the sources consulted by the DIRB. The attachment from Political Handbook of the World:1994-1995 has a brief entry on the People's Party (Partido ng Bayan), while the attachment from The Far East and Australasia 1996 has a shorter entry on the New People' Alliance (Partido ng Bayan). Neither source provides current information on the status of the Partido ng Bayan, nor on the treatment of its members.

The Asiaweek attachment of 26 October 1994 discusses the life of Horacio "Boy" Morales, whose party, the Partido ng Bayan, "has disbanded,... [although] its former members remain dedicated to promoting 'politics based on issues, not personalities'."

However, the Human Rights in Developing Countries Yearbook 1995 attachment refers to the Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (New Patriotic Alliance; BAYAN), which is a non-governmental organization. This source does not provide additional information on Bayan (1995, 295)

This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the DIRB within time constraints. This Response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum. Please find below the list of additional sources consulted in researching this Information Request.
