Please find attached a copy of a description of the Frente Ecuatoriano por la Defensa de los Derechos Humanos (FEDHU) published by Human Rights Internet (HRI) and the Chilean Programa de Derechos Humanos de la Academia de Humanismo Cristiano in 1990. This document is the most detailed description on FEDHU. The coordinator of the Comisión Ecuménica de Derechos Humanos (CEDHU), who is also the coordinator of FEDHU, stated in a telephone interview that FEDHU is often referred to as the Frente Ecuatoriano de Derechos Humanos, rather than by its longer, complete name (1 Nov. 1993). The source explained that CEDHU does the coordinating work of FEDHU for the northern region of Ecuador. The coordinator added that although no recent brochure or document explaining the work of FEDHU has been published lately, the description given in the attached HRI directory is still accurate and the work of FEDHU has not changed much in recent years (ibid.).
