In a 9 August 1996 telephone interview with the DIRB, the editor-in-chief of the daily El Sol de Durango stated, after consulting the newspaper archives, that no article concerning a murder of two indigenous people at the above-mentioned date and location was published by the newspaper in June 1995.
This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the DIRB within time constraints. This Response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum.
