No references to a Hard Love (HL) gang in Cape Town could be found among the sources consulted by the Research Directorate. A journalist with the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC-TV) who covers gang-related violence in the Cape Flats region of Cape Town stated that she was unaware of a Hard Love gang (8 July 1999).
