Information referring to direct links between the Central Obrera Boliviana (COB) and student groups could not be found among the sources currently available to the DIRB. Trotskyist student leaders, however, are reported to be sympathetic to the miners' labour demands and actions (The Los Angeles Times 29 Aug. 1986), with one source stating that student unions support unconditionally the COB's fights (Andean Commission of Jurists 4 May 1987, 2). The attached section from the Yearbook on International Communist Affairs 1988 reports on the influence of the Communist Party of Bolivia (PCB) on the COB (pages 41 and 42). The same report names the Communist Youth of Bolivia as an auxiliary organization of the PCB (Staar 1988, 40). The document, however, does not specify which student groups, if any, are linked to the Communist Youth of Bolivia.

Additional and/or corroborating information could not be found among the sources currently available to the DIRB.
