The attached eight articles provide information on the military activities of the Kurdish Democratic Party of Iran (KDPI) and the Komala, including Iranian attacks on the military bases of these organizations in Iraq in the period January to September 1993.
According to a representative of Asia Watch in New York, the Kurdish Democratic Party of Iran Revolutionary Command (KDPIRC), which split from the KDPI because of its opposition to ongoing negotiations between the KDPI and the Iranian government in the late 1980s, has military bases in Iraq (22 Sept. 1993). The KDPIRC has carried out military operations against Iranian forces since it split from the KDPI (Ibid.). The representative was unable to provide detailed information on KDPIRC military activities.
This response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the DIRB within time constraints. This response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum.
