1), 2), 3) Attached, please find excerpts taken from a short story written by the Iranian writer Esmail Fassih, in which he refers to the situation of professors, the difficulty the main character has in obtaining his salary for teaching at the university, the lack of paper to publish with, and additionally, the question of University entrance exams [Esmail Fassih, "The Status: a day in the life of a contemporary Iranian writer", Third World Quarterly, vol.9 no.3 (July 1987), pp. 828-831, and 838.]. Although the latter is referred to only briefly, the author mentions the Selective Investigation Unit as the responsible organism for deciding who enters university or not.
