According to the United Nations' Human Rights International Instruments (1994, 7) and a fax dated 9 March 1995 from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Ottawa, both of which are attached, Jordan is not a signatory to either the 1951 Convention or the 1967 Protocol.
This response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the DIRB within time constraints. This response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum.
