According to a November 1989 article from the Reuters news agency, the Bulgarian Liberation Movement is an organization of exiled Bulgarian dissidents based in Paris (Reuters 1989). In a June 1985 article, the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency, the official Bulgarian news agency under the Zhivkov government, referred to the Bulgarian Liberation Movement as "a terrorist organisation" (BBC 8 June 1985, A1). An article from the New York Times dated December 30, 1982, refers to the group as one of several "feuding" Bulgarian emigre organizations (30 December 1982, 6). Please find these articles attached.
There is no further information currently available to the IRB Documentation Centre on the Bulgarian Liberation Movement or whether it still exists.
