1) Please refer to the attached table of contents of a book entitled A Simple Guide to United States Immigration Law (Encino: Universal Publishing, 1986). Please circle the sections that you would like photocopied, as the whole book may not be useful for your purposes.
2) A database search of The New York Times disclosed a number of related stories, but only one mentions police brutality in relation to immigrant groups:
- Marvin Howe, "Group Aiding Use of Rights in Chinatown", The New York Times, 19 August 1984.
- Selwyn Raab, "Doctor Says He Was Beaten in Arrest", The New York Times, 22 February 1987.
3) Title 8 of the Code of Federal Regulations of the United States of America is quite an extensive document. At the IRBDC-Ottawa we have a copy of the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) Regulations, as well as the Immigration and Nationality Act. A photocopy of the titles of the chapters and sections of the Act and the INS Regulations is attached. Please specify which portions of these documents you would like forwarded.
