The 11 November 1995 issue of the Vanguard does not report on a demonstration held in Lagos to protest the execution of Ken Saro Wiwa. It is important to note that the photocopy of the article you appended to this Information Request is from the Sunday Vanguard of 12 November 1995.

According to a report in the 27 November-3 December 1995 issue of West Africa, the execution of Ken Saro Wiwa and eight other Ogonis "caused ripples all over the world." (1833). The report does not mention a demonstration in Lagos in connection with the execution, but states that within Nigeria "reactions to the execution were varied." (ibid.).

The Economist of 18 November 1995 reports that "reaction to the hanging inside Nigeria has been muted. Civilian politicians who claim to support democracy have been silent" (41).

This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the DIRB within time constraints. This Response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum.
